1487 Broadway is a five story rental building in Bushwick, completed in 2017 at the corner of Cornelia Street. Its design recalls New Orleans architecture, with frilly balconies, intricate railings, and a geometric roofline. The project redeveloped a two story structure into a 17 apartment building designed by S&S Architectural Design LLC and developed by Cando Capital, whose principal is David Sinay.
The façade combines tall, multi paned windows with Gothic inspired detailing and varied groupings of fenestration. Black domed lights, white architectural outlines, customized murals, and large architectural drawings and floorplans continue through the common areas and exterior. The building's short façade directly borders the elevated tracks near the Halsey Street station.
Apartments commonly have hardwood floors, high ceilings, central air conditioning, and large windows. Kitchens have open layouts, stone countertops, stainless steel appliances, dishwashers, and microwaves, while many apartments also have private balconies or other outdoor space. The available layouts range from one and two bedroom apartments to larger four bedroom homes.
Building amenities include a rooftop terrace with skyline views, a lounge, bike storage, laundry, storage, and a video intercom. The Halsey Street elevated station, served by the J train, is nearby, and the Gates Avenue station, served by the J and Z trains, is also close to the building.
