In Bushwick, a new rental at 1487 Broadway has opened offering a creative set of apartments inspired by the many artists, architects and designers living in the neighborhood. With elaborate architectural drawings directly etched onto the façade and a lounge that unfurls like a roll trace paper, finding a new building in the city with this much originality is a needle in a haystack.
Building permits say David Sinay of Candor Capital is the developer and Shawn Stiles’ S&S Architectural Design LLC is the architect of record. The development doubles the size of a former 2-floor building and carves out 17 units ranging from one- to four-bedrooms.
Available apartments are affordable (by New York standards), with two-bedrooms priced from $2,355/mo., 3-bedrooms from $3,650/mo. and 4-beds from $4,000/mo. Apartments come with hardwood floors, central air, high ceilings, stainless steel appliances (including a dishwasher), and balconies for select units.
The pet-friendly building’s amenities include a video intercom, laundry room, communal outdoor space and roof deck. The building is a stone’s throw away from the J line’s Halsey Street elevated station.
