In December 2025, developer GFP Real Estate was chosen to redevelop 100 Gold Street, an office building in the Financial District into 3,700 units of mixed-income housing, at least 25% of which would be permanently affordable. The city purchased the circa-1960s office building for $37 million in 1993, and it is now home to the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, other city agencies, and the Hamilton-Madison House senior center. ULURP is expected to begin in 2027.
