61 Broadway is a 32 story office tower from 1914 that is being converted into a 796 unit rental building, with completion scheduled for 2028. Originally known as the Adams Express Building for its principal tenant, it was Manhattan’s seventh tallest building when completed.
Chase National Bank was another prominent early occupant. RXR Realty acquired the property in 2014, and plans filed in January 2026 call for 21 residences on the ninth floor with interiors by CetraRuddy.
The residential program includes central air and in-unit washers and dryers. Shared amenities are planned to include a residents’ lounge, fitness center, rooftop terrace, bike room, mail room, and resident storage.

Developer RXR is converting 61 Broadway, a prewar office tower in the Financial District, into 796 rentals (about 200 of which will be affordable), as well as dedicated amenity floors, and a rooftop lounge and terrace with skyline and river views. Construction is to start later this month, and leasing is anticipated for the first half of 2028.
