Built in 2017 by Toll Brothers City Living and designed by Dewitt Tishman, 1400 Hudson Street is a 12 story, 236 unit condominium in Hoboken's Hudson Tea complex, one block from the Hudson River. The red brick building comprises a 12 story main tower and a 9 story wing that together enclose a landscaped courtyard, with corner balconies and bay windows across the façade. The lobby, with interiors by Andres Escobar, draws on the site's industrial history: a feature wall replicates old factory windows with thin rustic metal mullions and wired glass, while exposed rough wood beams are revealed where the ceiling opens above the reception desk. At the entrance, a rain garden with a wooden path and railing angling across sunken plantings is one of the building's more distinctive touches, and discrete air conditioning units keep the façade clean.
The building is staffed by full time concierges and doormen and offers a rooftop pool, two roof terraces, a fitness center, a children's playroom, a game room, a dog wash room, on-site parking, bicycle storage, and private storage. In-unit washer/dryers are included, and pets are permitted. Residents have a complimentary shuttle to the nearby PATH and NJ Transit station and the NY Waterway ferry terminal, with 14 acres of riverfront parks a short walk away.
With roughly 22 apartments per floor, units range from one bedroom layouts starting at 775 square feet to three bedroom corner units reaching 1,707 square feet. Open kitchens are common, many with breakfast bars or islands, and living rooms typically run 17 to 28 feet in length. Select units include private balconies.
