27 Wooster Street Plans
By Carter Horsley   |   From Archives Monday, June 20, 2005
The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission held a lengthy hearing last week on a plan by Dr. Axel Stawski to erect a 9-story, 23-unit luxury condominium development at 27 Wooster Street on the southwest corner at Grand Street in the SoHo-Cast Iron Historic District. The site now occupied by a parking lot.

The discussion quickly evolved into an "ideological debate" over context and contemporary architecture.
