A flag has been raised at 40-05 Crescent Street, signifying construction has topped out on the five-story structure coming together in Long Island City’s Dutch Kills neighborhood. Developed by Mike DiFonzo, the building will host 32 apartments supplemented by commercial space and a 48-vehicle garage. Filings with the city show there will be retail and manufacturing space on the first two floors and apartments above. The design by T.F. Cusanelli and Filletti Architects breaks up the building’s 40,000-square-foot bulk into smaller components, making it look as if the building is a collection of townhouses. Construction should wrap up by year’s end.
