Gene Kaufman, the prolific architect known for designing hotels and residential buildings, has brought forth two shared working spaces in Bushwick, a move that further solidifies the Brooklyn neighborhood as an artist's enclave. According to a recent press release by the architect's firm, the two Millennial-pleasing commercial projects will accommodate more than 600 occupants and incorporate sustainable materials into a minimalist design. Ted Hovivian is the developer.
The Bogart, located at 100 Bogart Street, already began accepting tenants earlier this fall into its 6-story co-working space. The building has features like turnkey workspaces, meeting spaces, furnished private offices, custom furniture, high-speed internet, spacious kitchenettes with coffee and tea, printers, and scanners. Since it is among the tallest buildings in the area, tenants will be able to enjoy panoramic views of Manhattan from the rooftop. The Bogart also offers bike racks, a terrace, and underground parking. You can check out some of its spaces and amenities below.

The second project, "The Anx," is a brand new 4-story building at 13 Grattan Street that features a creative cross-braced design. The ground-up 30,535-square foot development has customizable full-floor lofts that serve as shared working spaces, a 1,200-square-foot retail space, and 24 off-street parking spaces. The Anx is set to open before the end of the year.

Of course, these two projects aren't the only commercial developments catering to Brooklyn's young professionals - they're not even the only ones in Bushwick. As tenants get priced out of Downtown Brooklyn and Williamsburg, the demand for affordable office space has driven them further east. The Box Factory at 1519 Decatur Street recently underwent a $10 million renovation to hold modern shared working spaces, conference rooms, and amenities for future tenants, along with retail space. Similarly, 199Cook (199 Cook Street) just started leasing renovated retail, office, and studio spaces, and BKLYN Commons opened a second location at 774 Broadway Avenue in Bushwick earlier this year.
