The clean and modern design for a 22-unit project in Bedford-Stuyvesant has been revealed via Samuel Wieder Architects' Instagram. The building will rise at 244 Howard Avenue (the "I" on the facade is actually a light fixture), which is the current site of Victory Baptist Church. Rather than demolishing, permits call for an enlargement of two stories, bringing the total height to just 50 feet, or four stories. There will be 18,452 square feet of residential space, meaning each unit will average roughly 840 square feet, so likely rentals.

Amenities will include recreation space and a laundry room, but the rendering also shows a rooftop terrace, though this may just be for the penthouse unit.
CityRealty recently reported on two projects coming to the gentrifying Bedford-Stuyvesant – the angular Daniel Libeskind-designed building, which will provide affordable senior housing, and the 49-unit geometric rental coming to Atlantic Avenue. Rent in the neighborhood currently sits at a median price of $2,299/month.
