As the U.S. Open culminates, visitors to its grounds will notice Flushing's burgeoning skyline just off in the distance. Near the western gateway of the neighborhood is Tangram House, a transformative 1.2 million square foot development composed of condominium residences, retail, office, and hotel space. This week, the “East meets West” development team led by F&T Group and SCG America announced that the 192 residences of Tangram's first phase are now 95% sold.
Remaining listings include a pair of three-bedroom penthouses asking $2,966,120 and $2,722,930 each. A smaller, ninth-floor three-bedroom is also available for $1,919,050. The average price per square foot of remaining homes is $1,243, well below the overall Manhattan condo listing average of $1,674 / ft².

Tangram House's design is rooted in Asian architecture, but the developers also wanted the project to be an "ode to Flushing" and include some Europeans influences. Its design by award-winning firm JG Neukomm Architecture in collaboration with Margulies Hoelzli Architecture is inspired by the traditional Chinese dissection puzzle called tans. Interior designer, Jean-Gabriel Neukomm, selected classic, European-sourced materials and juxtaposed them with contemporary design techniques. Natural materials and organic motifs are used throughout to unwind residents from the hustle and bustle of the city.
