A classic, albeit slightly worn ownhouse at 343 West 47th Street is slated to be altered and enlarged into a modern 7-unit building designed by Melamed Architect. were recently re-filed to grow the building by three floors, up from the two-floor enlargement submitted back in 2013.
Centrally located in Midtown West, the building is set apart from the madness of Times Square on a quiet Hell's Kitchen side street next to Ramon Aponte Playground. Per the architect's page the project hopes to create a "green oasis in the center of the city" and resident perks include a landscaped courtyard ,public garden and rooftop terrace.

Long-released renderings by Melamed Architect show the building will be clad in a metal rainscreen system and upper-level apartments will have street-faing Juliet balconies. The first four floors would have one- to two-bedroom units, and the buildings would be topped with a four-bedroom duplex penthouse.
It is not known whether the units will be condos or rentals. Details and prices for the apartments in the new expansion are not yet available. According to our listing date, the median condo price for Midtown West is $1.955 million and the median rent for a one-bedroom is $3,531/month and $5,287/month for a two-bedroom. .
