A 17-story rental development in Chelsea has just topped off construction, nearly a year since vertical construction began. The 55,000-square-foot building rises at 232 Seventh Avenue, near the corner of 23rd Street. The developer listed on building permits is Chelsea 7 JV LLC, and the designers are the growing firm of C3D Architecture.
Now topped off, the construction team led by Foremost Construction will begin applying the precast stone facade that C3D principal, Damir Sehic says will resemble limestone. He tells the newspaper Construction Today, that the exterior is designed to continue and align with the NYC street façade with special treatment at lower levels for pedestrians to experience.
