The building at 131-135 Duane Street in Tribeca was built in 1915 and rises to five floors with eight residential units, according to city records, but it may soon gain at least one more residence with a two-story planed penthouse addition.

The building is included in the Tribeca South Historic District and a presentation prepared for a public hearing on Tuesday, October 30th 2018 under the city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission shows renderings for a penthouse with floor-to-ceiling windows and a curtain wall of glass and blackened steel. The building’s roof is currently unused and the plans for the addition are from architect Jonathan Schloss.
