As a spate of new hospitality projects show, the recent Long Island City building boom has not been limited to residential. Construction has recently started on a 16-story, 116-key hotel at 38-59 11th Street. The prolific Gene Kaufman Architects will be lead designer on the project, which will include enclosed parking for guests (per YIMBY).
A few blocks away, construction has topped out on the 16-story, 139-key hotel coming to 38-70 12th Street. The My Architect PC-designed property will have restaurants on the first and 16th floors, an open parking lot for five cars, and an underground parking garage. Developer Ampiera Group is at the helm of this project.
