Aside from Central Park, there’s perhaps no better place to enjoy wintertime in New York than Bryant Park. The urban sanctuary, hollowed out from one of the world’s densest building environments, is a scenic 10-acre retreat for locals, workers, and visitors alike. However, unlike its uptown big brother there have been few opportunities to live beside it. Now, HFZ Capital working with British architect David Chipperfield have shaped the first post-war residences directly alongside the Midtown gem.

Fittingly named The Bryant, the 34-story building rises along Bryant Park's southern perimeter and contains both hotel and residential units, most with picturesque views of the park and/or the Empire State Building. The best views are to be had above the fifteenth level where the 57 for-sale residences are perched. The homes are nearly 50% in contract and current pricing has 1-bedrooms starting from $1.915 million, 2-bedrooms from $2.905 million, 3-bedrooms from $6.94 million and a sole 4-bedrooms priced at $9.435 million.

When we last checked in on the construction progress in October, the terrazzo façade was just beginning to envelop and echo the underlying structural frame. Now nearly complete, the exterior bears an elemental post and lintel appearance that Chipperfield hopes to provide a tectonic and physical presence for onlookers.
The interiors, which are also crafted by Chipperfield, feature floor-to-ceiling sliding windows with Juliet balconies, oak herringbone floors with radiant heating and honed terrazzo borders. The most remarkable units will be the two triplex penthouses with double height loggias that measure over 400 square feet, private interior elevators, and fireplaces, and private roof decks with an adjoining sunroom, powder room, and waterfall island.
Amenities at The Bryant will include a fitness center with a steam room, a sauna and showers, two lounges including a club living room lounge with a fireplace, a dining room, a conference room, a bar, and a communal landscaped terrace. Other services will include a la carte hotel services, catering and in-residence dining, a 24-hour attended lobby, porter service, private storage, cold storage, and bicycle storage.
