At the end of 2025, a study by the Wine Market Council found that Millennials have overtaken boomers as the largest group of wine consumers, and that interest in wine is climbing among members of Gen Z. Participants also noted that wine makes occasions feel more special, and that both of the younger generations enjoy sparking wines more than older generations.
Whether one prefers red, white, rosé, or sparkling, proper storage is key for optimal enjoyment. What turns some on to wine (and others off) is that each bottle can vary by year because of winemaking techniques, global temperature fluctuations, attacks from predators and/or plant-born diseases, and transportation/storage conditions. Therefore, in the wine world, knowledge is power.

Luxury residential developers have taken note and instead of just offering wine storage cellars and amenity spaces to enjoy wine in, they are now upping their vino game and offering wine education, tastings, and expert consultations as part of their amenities package. In anticipation of National Drink Wine Day on February 18, we look at luxury residential amenities from star-sommelier services to standout store selections.

One Manhattan Square

Over 100,000 square feet of residential amenities at One Manhattan Square cater to seemingly all interests and lifestyles, including wine connoisseurs. A wine room offers ample storage space for collections, and the cellar bar and lounge with fireplace and multiple seating areas is a beautifully appointed setting for tastings, not to mention other get-togethers.

30 Warren

The bold and beautiful Post-Office Architectes luxury condominium at 30 Warren is just blocks away from even bolder star sommelier Paul Grieco’s Terroir Tribeca. Terroir is a local institution and the birthplace of the “Summer of Riesling” movement, and Grieco is an irreverent, in-your-face, non-wine-snob, wine expert. Similarly, 30 Warren is no wallflower as it embraces its location with its design and facade that burst with downtown personality. 30 Warren and Greico will offer an array of services including private wine tastings and one-on-one consultations about collecting, food pairing, and auction participation. From acquiring hard-to-get bottles to storing expensive collections, this unique program streamlines the wine-drinking experience for residents, allowing them to enjoy and then easily re-cork customized selections without any hassle. Additionally, residents can enjoy VIP reservation status at Terroir, as well as in-home catering.

Beyond the Grieco offerings, the building also offers residents wine collecting and cellar storage: Chambers Street Wines, specialists in naturally made and rare wines, offers 30 Warren residents access to its unique selection and provides convenient, temperature-controlled wine storage service. This is in addition to individual wine refrigerators in each of 30 Warren’s units.

One Hundred Barclay

The Ralph Walker-designed One Hundred Barclay boasts a Jeffrey Beers-designed wine room on its sleek Club Level. It is conveniently located next to the 54 wine lockers (which are for sale to oenophile residents in the building); each locker holds more than 100 bottles. New York Vintners will be on hand to provide sommelier services, wine tastings, and wine locker stocking.

Shane Benson, the Managing Partner of New York Vintners said, "We are thrilled to partner with One Hundred Barclay and offer residents the opportunity to create their personal dream collections customized to their taste. Owners have access to our experts who can assist with building impressive wine collections, hosting private wine tastings with food pairings and any questions an oenophile may have. Our flagship events space and store is located just down the street at 63 Barclay, should anyone need help curating a last-minute event or tasting. We enjoyed the creative process of consulting to create a wine oasis where residents could escape to after a long day and we look forward to our continued partnership."

108 Leonard

Thanks to the protections conferred by its status as an individual landmark, the Italian Renaissance Revival-style building at 108 Leonard Street looks the same as it did when it was constructed nearly 100 years ago. However, the interiors have been transformed into 166 beautifully appointed residences with access to 20,000 square feet of amenity spaces. These include a wine cellar with private dining room, ideal for both storing and sharing wine.

Front & York

The full-block Front & York's low-scale height and brick facade are respectful nods to DUMBO's industrial history. However, 150,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities were designed to appeal to today's buyers' needs, interests, and hobbies. These include a Wine Room with private storage lockers, a hand-crafted tasting table, custom furnishings, and views of Front & York's private park by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, the landscape architects behind the nearby Brooklyn Bridge Park.
