According to our rental listings, approximately 165 rental apartments had their prices reduced over the last two weeks, a 1:2 ratio when compared to the 333 that had their sticker prices increased. Plummeting inventory and strong demand have motivated landlords to ratchet up rents closer to pre-pandemic levels. There are now 4,400 apartments available for rent in Manhattan, a dramatic decline from over 16,000 availabilities in October 2020. This fall is off to an excellent start for the Whitney Museum. A retrospective devoted to Jasper Johns opened last week, and Labyrinth of Forms, an exhibition highlighting women’s contributions to abstraction, opens on October 9.
