As of this writing, CityRealty listings show a total of 4,866 for rent throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, parts of Queens and the Bronx, and the New Jersey Gold Coast. This represents a small dip from around this time last year, and that things may be starting to return to more normal levels -- 2021 opened with 17,358 availabilities. However, those hoping for more attainable rents may be disappointed: The Manhattan median rent comes to $4,800/month, and Brooklyn doesn't offer much of a respite with a median rent of $4,000/month.

From January 18-24, 2023, a total of 217 rental listings throughout New York City and the New Jersey Gold Coast experienced price reductions, whereas 272 saw price increases. A selection of notable discounts may be seen below.
