The best new bargains in NYC include Carnegie Hill co-op for under $500K

New York is one of the world's most expensive places to buy, and CityRealty data would back that up: The median price of a condo is $1.85 million, and co-ops don't offer much of a respite with a median of $895K. However, that is not to say that would-be buyers should give up and look to the suburbs. 733 new listings came on the market in the past week, and there were some surprising bargains to be found among them. The following listings are priced under $1 million, under $1,000 per square foot, and well below their neighborhoods' median prices for similar units.
