Closings have commenced at the landmark luxury condominium conversion, the Austin Nichols House at 184 Kent Avenue. Located on the beautiful Williamsburg waterfront, the highly anticipated building stands just 7 stories tall but houses 338 high-end residences. It was originally conceived in 1915 by legendary architect Cass Gilbert for Austin, Nichols & Co., the city’s largest grocer at the time. The distinguished building, which has features of Egyptian Revivalist design, is also one of the earliest examples of reinforced concrete warehouses in the United States. Developers LIVWRK Holdings, Kushner Companies, and Rockpoint Group enlisted Morris Adjmi Architects for the thoughtful renovation.

Despite the building's recent hiccups (Curbed), it has already achieved a record-breaking price-per-square-foot of over $1,900 for select residences, according to a recent press release. There are currently 34 residences for sale ranging from studios to three-bedrooms with prices starting at $897K and capping at $2.854M.
