Melamed Architect was tapped to design the building, which features a tan masonry façade, large floor-to-ceiling windows and deep terraces.
The building stands on a sliver lot and tops out at 80 feet tall.

42 East 132nd Street will host 10,677 square feet of residential space, which divvies up to an average unit size of 900 square feet. The building’s third and eighth (penthouse) floors will host full-floor units, and floors two, four, five, six, and seven will host two each. At its base and basement floors, the building will host a healthcare center complete with treatment facilities and ambulatory diagnostic capabilities. Plans indicate that the building will also include elevators and provide a rooftop deck.

Plans for the building were officially approved in July of 2015, and completion is expected later this year. 42 East 132nd will join other nearby condominium buildings, including The Style just down the street at 48 East 132nd Street. Sales recently launched at the 6-floor, 31-unit building, with average residence prices of $962 per square foot. Two one-bedroom units are currently on the market starting from $561,000. The average price per square foot in East Harlem is currently $1,042.
