An elegant and soaring silhouette will be added to the downtown Manhattan skyline in the coming years, and at its base will be a gracious new plaza open to the public. Named 111 Murray Street, the 64-story condominium is being designed by Kohn Pederson Fox Associates with Goldstein, Hill & West as executive architects. The tower will be distinguished by its curvaceous glass exterior that culminates in a graceful, distinctive crown. Fisher Brothers joined forces with the Witkoff Group and Howard Labor in 2013 to purchase the site at 111 Murray Street for $223 million, which was previously a 1983 mid-rise built for The College of Insurance. The tower is expecting completion in 2018.
The tower stands nearby the World Trade Center and is on its way to becoming a staple in the Manhattan skyline.

The more than 20,000 square feet of amenities and public spaces are designed by the acclaimed Rockwell Group with Edmund Hollander Design (EH) as the landscape architects. EH handled the design of the building’s 10,600 plaza which is positioned mid-block to the east of the tower. The space will have a water wall feature, lush foliage, 362 linear feet of seating, lounging areas, and play areas. By way of gently sloping ramps, the plaza will transition visitors from the buzz of the city into a serene oasis. The plaza ramps would also connect the tower lobby and a 60-foot-high building retail building along the far east end of the site, fronting Murray Street.

The rear of the building, along the wall of the Whole Foods-containing 101 Warren Street would feature a private landscaped terrace replete with lounge chairs and tables. The outdoor space would provide seamless access to common amenity spaces inside.

Of the total 157 units, there are currently eleven apartments for sale at 111 Murray: two 1-bedroom units starting from $2.5 million, three 2 bedroom units starting from $4.35 million, three 3-bedroom units starting from $6.35 million, two 4-bedroom units starting from $7.55 million, and one 5-bedroom starting from $18.9 million.
The interiors are designed by David Mann of MR Architecture & Décor, who focused on a refined palette of natural materials. Each living space features soaring ceilings, full-height windows, custom White Oak herringbone floors, and multiple exposures that make for an open living experience. The kitchens are expansive and windowed, with marble waterfall countertops, custom cabinetry crafted by Molteni in cerused white oak, and the latest Wolf, Sub-Zero, and Miele appliances. The bathrooms all feature Dornbracht fixtures and rich stone surfaces. The master baths include slab travertine feature walls, a freestanding BluStone bathtub, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Powder rooms feature a clean, natural stone look, and secondary baths are housed by marble walls and floors and include polished chrome fixtures.

David Rockwell designed the building’s endless amenities, which span over 20,000 square feet. Residents are welcomed into the 24-hour attended lobby by anodized steel walls, custom hand-blown glass lighting, and travertine floors. A sprawling lounge features 15-foot ceilings and an oversized stone and steel fireplace, while overlooking a dramatic water wall and reflecting pool. Attached is a grand dining room that overlooks a private garden and features a professional demonstration kitchen. The attached patisserie can easily be transformed into a pre-dinner cocktail bar for special events.
111 Murray Street also features a fully equipped 3,000 square foot fitness center with a separate yoga studio separated by a lush terrarium. The building’s 75-foot lap pool is framed by teak and stone and comes alongside a hot tub and a 25-foot-wide splash pool with floor-mounted water jets. Nearby is a spa area with a hamman complete with heated, sculpted marble beds and carved sinks. Also in the spa area are treatment rooms, saunas, and a hair salon. Last but not least, the building features a recreation area for children of all ages – with an interactive Imagination Playground for kids and an arcade and game tables for teens, as well as a separate media room for viewing movies.
