During the first quarter of 2024, 2,500 contracts were signed for condos, co-ops, and condop apartments in Manhattan. If these transactions close at their last asking prices, they would total nearly $5.9 billion in sales. Although overall sales have declined compared to the previous year, the super high-end market remains robust. The top-selling buildings varied from an intimate boutique condominium in the West Village to the world's tallest residential building on Billionaires' Row.

50 West 66th Street is poised to become the tallest and most important condominium tower on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Developed by Extell Development Company with Tennor Holdings, the 69-story high-rise will comprise 127 upscale residences ranging from two-bedroom units to full-floor aeries. The tower's distinctive design, a result of collaboration between Snøhetta and SLCE Architects, draws inspiration from the area's geological past and the historical character of Central Park West.

Over one-third of all residences will have private outdoor spaces, the most noteworthy of which will have corner loggias bestowing sweeping views of Central Park, the Manhattan skyline, and beyond. The design cleverly elevates the upper 22 floors of the tower by over 225 feet through the incorporation of several mechanical and interstitial floors above the 14th level.

Shamir Shah Design & AB Concept refined the graciously proportioned homes. They all feature floor-to-ceiling windows, soaring ceiling heights of up to 14' - 6", and custom-crafted kitchens by Smallbone, equipped with a suite of Miele and Sub-Zero appliances

Residents will enjoy over 50,000 square feet of amenities and services. Its side street, Upper West Side address is moments from Central Park, Lincoln Center, Columbus Circle, numerous acclaimed restaurants, and convenient transportation options.

The two towers are connected by a pair of two-story-high, slanted and angled skybridges, one of which houses a retractable movie screen. The building has a landscaped mid-block court and entrance marquees.

The 36-story West Tower is closer to the river, entirely residential, and features interiors by Gabellini Sheppard Associates. The 26-story East Tower is closer to the High Line, home to New York's first Faena Hotel and condos on top, and has interiors by Gilles et Boissier. The building has recorded impressive contracts throughout spring and summer 2023, and a penthouse recently entered contract with an asking price of $52M. Not only is this the highest Downtown contract of 2023 to date but, if it closes for the asking price, would be one of Downtown's priciest sales on record.
