Fifth & Wythe at 55 North 5th Street (a.k.a. 149 Kent Avenue) has launched their registration website for prospective renters interested in the building's 200 rental units and has released its official name as Fifth & Wythe. The seven-story building spans half of an entire Williamsburg block and is situated just steps from the neighborhood's rejuvenated waterfront and East River State Park. L+M Development is spearheading the project which will be ready for occupancy by the end of this year.
The Fifth & Wythe apartments replaced an old one-story carpet warehouse that was demolished in 2013. While GF55 Partners is the architect of record, Global Design Strategy (GDSNY) designed the facade of the building. Referencing the historic/industrial past of the building and neighborhood, Fifth & Wythe displays brick walls with metal accent panels and large windows.
