Carter Horsley
Review of 150 East 49th Street by Carter Horsley

This handsome, brown-brick apartment building was erected in 1922 and converted to a cooperative in 1984.

The 9-story building has 46 apartments.

The mid-block building had a canopied entrance with a very attractive stone entrance surround surmounted by a rounded shell ornament.

The building is distinguished by its balustraded roofline topped with vases. It also has bandcourses above the first and third and eighth floors and it permits protruding air-conditioners.

The building has a bicycle room, a live-in superintendent, storage, a private garden, a laundry room and permits washers and dryers and pets.

There is excellent public transportation.
