Crystal54 is a 7 story rental building at 351 West 54th Street in Midtown West, distinguished by a cast iron façade that recalls the architecture of SoHo. Completed in 2017, the mid rise contains 33 apartments and was developed by The Omnia Group, led by David Paz, with Naveh Shuster and Northwind Group as equity partners. Nataliya Donskoy of ND Architecture & Design served as architect of record.
The façade has a strong window grid, projecting spandrels, pronounced mullions, and a simple cornice. Four ground floor apartments are duplexes, giving the building a range of vertically arranged layouts uncommon in a compact rental property. One duplex configuration places living space on the entry level and allows the lower level to be organized separately, with entrances on both floors.
Apartments commonly have open layouts, floor to ceiling double pane windows, central air conditioning, high end kitchens with built in appliances, and in unit washers and dryers. Private outdoor space appears in several forms, including balconies, terraces, and an atrium patio. The building has an attended lobby, doorman and concierge service, video intercoms, resident storage, a fitness center, a landscaped rooftop terrace, a bike room, and on site parking.
Crystal54 occupies a tree lined block between Eighth and Ninth Avenues in Hell's Kitchen. Restaurants, bars, supermarkets, the Theater District, Central Park, Lincoln Center, Columbus Circle, and MoMA are all within the surrounding Midtown West area.
