Omnia / Northwind Group’s ground-up condominium at 351-355 West 54th Street is nearing completion, and is now flaunting a new cast iron facade. Sought-after residences in cast iron buildings are typically concentrated in the historic downtown neighborhoods but are rare in others, with many believing it's because we don't build 'em like we used to. Omnia, however, has proved us wrong.
The classic and sparse exterior was designed by David Paz, with ND Architecture & Design serving as the architects of record. The sublime facade boasts repeating rows of deep inset windows framed by cast-iron spandrels and ornamental columns. The development expands upon a pre-existing building, enlarging it from two stories to seven. Altogether, its 34 apartments encompass 33,000 square feet of gross floor area. There will three duplex apartments along the cellar and ground floors, and five apartments per floor above.

The 7-story condo project is comprised of three conjoined buildings which together hold 34 residential units. Situated in Hell's Kitchen between Eighth and Ninth avenues, the building will offer residents light-filled residences and a host of amenities including a full-time doorman, fitness center, parking garage and bike storage room.
This building is within walking distance to all of Midtown West's icons and amenities. The building is also conveniently located near the 1, B/D/F, N/Q/R, and A/C/E subway lines making transport throughout Manhattan and the other boroughs a breeze.
