Carter Horsley's Building Review Carter Horsley

61 CITYREALTY RATING

Carter's Review

This attractive, gray-brick building has a prime Upper East Side location across from the street from Hermes's sprightly boutique topped with a chevalier astride his rooftop steed. The 16-story building was building in 1958 and is a cooperative with 103 units.

The building has a two-story limestone base with a polished gray granite entrance surround. The building has a canopied entrance, a doorman, discrete air-conditioners, a garage and some terraces but no balconies, no sidewalk landscaping, no health club.

This neighborhood has numerous restaurants, and many chic boutiques, especially of crystal. It is, of course, only one block from Central Park, a block away from Barney's, and a short walk to the Plaza Office District. Subway stations are a few blocks away and there is cross-town bus service on 65th Street and 57th Street. There is considerable traffic and supermarkets are not nearby.

One United Nations Park is an unprecedented interplay of privacy and light—a balance that reflects the architecture’s bold exterior and luminous interiors.
