Westview is a 19 story, 361 unit post-war cooperative at 595 to 625 Main Street on Roosevelt Island. Built in 1975 under the Mitchell Lama program, it later underwent extensive renovation and a co-op conversion; an affordability plan remains in place for a portion of the apartments, which are income restricted.
The apartment mix ranges from studios through three bedroom homes, with both simplex and duplex configurations. Many layouts have large rooms, defined living and dining areas, and substantial storage, while private terraces and balconies punctuate the façade. Depending on orientation, views take in the East River, Manhattan skyline, or island parkland, and in-unit laundry is permitted.
The amenity program centers on a renovated heated indoor pool, fitness center, resident lounge, playroom, and Great Lawn. Westview also has a full time doorman, package and bike rooms, two laundry rooms, and building staff. Pets are permitted, as is limited subletting.
Westview occupies a riverfront setting amid Roosevelt Island’s lawns, waterfront promenades, community gardens, and playing fields. Island landmarks include Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park, designed by Louis Kahn, as well as Blackwell House, the Renwick Ruin, Octagon Tower, and the lighthouse at the island’s northern end.

For some co-ops, instead of price per square foot, we use an estimate of the number of rooms for each sold apartment to chart price changes over time. This is because many co-op listings do not include square footage information, and this makes it challenging to calculate accurate square-foot averages.
By displaying the price per estimated room count, we are able to provide a more reliable and consistent metric for comparing sales in the building. While we hope that this gives you a clearer sense of price trends in the building, all data should be independently verified. All data provided are only estimates and should not be used to make any purchase or sale decision.
