This 7-story red-brick building at 320 West 12th Street in the West Village was originally built in 1906 as housing for young working women, later converted to a nursing home, and finally transformed into luxury condominiums in 2013. The building features an impressive colonnaded entrance, quoins, splayed lintels, arched windows, and a large cornice, and now contains very large apartments in a Georgian-style setting overlooking Abingdon Park.
The Georgian-style building at 607 Hudson Street was constructed as a residence for young working women in 1906, and converted to The Village Nursing Home in 1958. In 2013, developer/designer FLANK converted it to luxury condominium The Abingdon, preserving the red brick façade and original architectural details amidst the conversion to 10 luxurious apartments.
Amenities at The Abingdon include an attended lobby, a fitness center, and private storage for each unit. It is located in close proximity to Hudson River Park, the Whitney Museum, and popular West Village dining and retail. The 14th Street A/C/E/L trains are a short distance from the building.
