Overview

This good-looking, 8-story apartment building at 425 East 13th Street was completed in 2008 and was developed by Robert Kaliner, president of the Ascend Group.

It was designed by Cetra-Ruddy and has 84 condominium apartments.

It is known as "The A Building" and is notable for its terracotta façade, roof-top swimming pool and cabanas and many glass balconies that connect to both living rooms and bedrooms.

The building has a 24-hour doorman and a health club. It consists of two buildings that are connected by a glass-enclosed bridge with angled roofline over its large rear court. The 13th Street structure contains 77 apartments and has 150 of street frontage while the 14th Street section has 7 apartments and 25 feet of frontage.

The property was acquired for $19,973,000 from Time Equities and a three-bedroom penthouse apartment with 1,900 square feet of interior space and 400 feet of exterior space was initially priced at about $2,975,000.

The lobby has Pietra Bedonia stone walls. Apartments have 9-foot-5-inch ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, glass "pocket doors" and kitchens have Celador oyster stone countertops, Liebherr refrigerators and Bosch ovens.
