Overview of Evans View at 303 East 60th Street

Evans View, originally known as the Uptown Memphis, is a distinctive 40 story condominium tower completed in 1985 at 303 East 60th Street. Designed by Gruzen Samton Steinglass and Abraham Rothenberg and developed by Aaron Green, the slender building contains just 157 residences and is crowned by a charming pitched red roof. Architectural critics Elliot Willensky and Norval White praised it as "the ultimate sliver: lanky, proud, colorful, and witty," and its sharp, clean design features angled balconies with decorative metal railings and blue air conditioning vents that reference the Memphis design style popular in the 1980s. The building enjoys high visibility overlooking the Roosevelt Island tram and offers some of the most appealing architecture near the Manhattan approach to the Queensborough Bridge.

Apartments at Evans View typically feature open kitchens, oversized windows, and balconies with northern and western exposures that provide abundant natural light and open city views. Two bedroom, two and a half bath corner units are common, with many residences offering split bedroom layouts, marble bathrooms, and 9 foot ceilings. Several units have been renovated with custom features including Sub-Zero appliances, granite countertops, and floor to ceiling custom cabinetry. Higher floor apartments offer dramatic river and skyline views, while some units include private storage bins in the basement.

The pet friendly building provides full service amenities including a 24 hour doorman, fitness center with pool, windowed laundry room, and a common outdoor terrace and planted courtyard, all located on the fourth floor. The Lenox Hill location offers convenient access to Central Park, multiple subway lines including the 4, 5, 6, N, R, and W trains, and nearby shopping destinations such as Bloomingdale's, Whole Foods, and Home Depot. The building does not have a garage, though its Upper East Side setting provides easy access to dining, cultural institutions, and the East River.
