Watermark LIC is a 27 story rental building at 44-19 Purves Street in Long Island City, completed in 2017 with 168 apartments. Developed by Twining Properties and designed by Handel Architects, the slim tower is defined by corner windows, contrasting spandrels, and a broad white pier dividing one end of the façade.
The gray and black exterior uses several setbacks to break up the building’s vertical profile, while an upward angled marquee and revolving door mark the entrance. Watermark LIC rises beside the Harrison, a broader 26 story condominium with a setback tower and numerous balconies.
The building has an attended lobby and concierge, along with a fitness center, business center, sky lounge, garden, bike room, resident storage, and mail room. A rooftop terrace and outdoor entertainment area expand the shared spaces, while terraces and balconies are incorporated into the residential design. Watermark LIC also has central air conditioning and LEED accreditation.
