Construction has begun on SOHA 118, a 12-story residential condominium building with 93 units at 301 West 118th Street, which also has the address of 2187-9 Frederick Douglass Boulevard.

GF55 is the architect for the project and its other prominent new projects in Harlem include the Kalahari, the Lenox, Madison Court and 444 Manhattan Avenue.

Ten Equities LLC, of which Benjamin Eytan is a principal, is the developer.

The development will have one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments and a 24-hour doorman and a fitness center. Apartment sizes range from about 716 to 2,235 square feet and prices start at about $633,660.

The red-brick building, which has a few setbacks, has a two-story limestone base and many corner windows.
