Ian Schrager, the real estate developer and the co-founder of the legendary Manhattan nightclub, Studio 54, was forced to split the Herzog & de Meuron-designed 160 Leroy Street's insane $80M penthouse into two units and put both on the market over a year ago. PHNorth, the largest residence, is now in contract for a steep $51M, as The Real Deal first reported. And since the other half of the original 12,200-square-foot penthouse went into contract in June for $31.5M, developers will get a little more than 3 percent above what they might have gotten before the split.

The five-bedroom, five-bath residence boasts a total of 7,750 square feet and has a ton of enviable features - a 4,944-square-foot landscaped terrace with a private outdoor pool and outdoor kitchen, a private elevator, four wood-burning fireplaces, and north, west, and east views of the Hudson River, Statue of Liberty, Hudson Waterfront Park and Manhattan skyline.
