Ian Schrager, the real estate developer and the co-founder of the legendary Manhattan nightclub, Studio 54, was forced to split the Herzog & de Meuron-designed 160 Leroy Street's insane $80M penthouse into two units and put both on the market over a year ago. PHNorth, the largest residence, is now in contract for a steep $51M, as The Real Deal first reported. And since the other half of the original 12,200-square-foot penthouse went into contract in June for $31.5M, developers will get a little more than 3 percent above what they might have gotten before the split.
