"It’s got a slight musical quality to it," says architect
Ed Rawlings when describing the interplay between the residences and facade of 40 Bleecker Street. The tiered 61-unit condominium rising in in NoHo will be dressed in a rhythmic facade of windows whose sizes are proportional to the spaces behind them. "We spent a lot of time making those transitions smooth and gentle but once you see it, it won’t let you go," says Rawlings in a recent interview.
To complement the striking exterior design, the team enlisted AD100 designer Ryan Korban to wrangle the interiors. While 40 Bleeker is Korban's first residential project in the city, he is known for his work on commercial spaces like the flagship stores of Alexander Wang and Balenciaga. While previously-released renderings of 40 Bleecker have focused on common areas such as the lobby which will be anchored with a striking black marble fireplace, a new batch of images have been released, showcasing Mr. Korban eclectic style that has donned the homes of Kanye West and Jessica Stam.
