A former vacant lot at 682 Chauncey Street in Bushwick is making way for a new 10-unit residential building designed by J Frankl Associates (JFA). With Charles Mallea as the architect of record, the newly-published renderings show that the corner site will receive a sleek, 6-floor building with many Juliet balconies and a rooftop terrace. As in many of the architect’s ivy-furled illustrations, much of the exterior walls, terraces and roof decks are lavished with plants and shrubs.

Alley Property Management filed initial permits in 2014 but these were only approved last summer. The new building shares its lot with an aluminum-sided, multi-family building at 1441 Bushwick Avenue. Its first through fourth floors will hold two apartments per floor, while the top two will hold two duplex penthouses. Amenities will include a recreation space on the ground floor, a laundry room and a rooftop terrace. The building is located one block from the elevated Chauncey Street station of the J and Z lines.
