New condos are pushing further into the upper reaches of Manhattan. In Harlem’s northeast corner, near its namesake river, Truss Development is readying to build a 103-unit condo at 2600 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard. The game-changing development will rise from a full block-front site between West 150th and 151st Street and across from the 3-train’s 148th Street terminal subway station.
Permits were filed last summer calling for a 7-floor, 100,000 -square-foot structure designed by Lin + Associates Architects. Since then, the applications have been approved and the car wash and auto body shops previously at the site have been removed. A blue construction fence now encircles the property, on which the rendering shown above is posted on.

Details about the project remain scarce. There will be a 61-car parking garage, a recreation room and several communal and private outdoor spaces including roof decks and balconies. The building will overlook the Frederick Johnson Playground where there are several tennis courts. An entrance to the entrance to the Harlem River Drive and Macomb Dam Bridge is nearby providing for easy vehicular access to various parts of the city. Earlier this year, we uncovered a new 8-floor, 52-unit rental development nearby at 152 West 140th Street.
