When recently constructed rental KB25 announced its first housing lottery in 2016, over 50,000 people applied for 55 spots. Now another, albeit significantly slimmer, chance to get into the building is in sight: Individuals earning 165% of the area median income ($82,800-$120,615) have until October 12, 2018 to apply for four studios at $2,376/month. Further information and application materials can be found here.
KB25 was designed by SLCE Architects for nonprofit developer Phipps Houses. Building amenities include 24-hour concierge, package room, bike room, laundry room, community room, and a landscaped rear yard. Fairway, an AMC movie theater, and several Murray Hill hot spots are just up the street.
The price of these apartments comes in just below the median rent of $2,700/month for Kips Bay studios (per CityRealty listings). For additional housing lotteries, visit Housing Connect.
