Around this same time last year, CityRealty gave you a first look at the design for 848 Lorimer Street, the former site of a 1-story warehouse now transformed into a 52-unit building on the border of Williamsburg and Greenpoint. The project, designed by the Meshberg Group with Issac Stern serving as the architect of record, is now topped out at 6 stories, according to Grand Street Development's Instagram (see below).
While this part of Brooklyn is generally accustomed to condos going up, permits show there will be 36,266 square feet of residential space, indicating rental-sized units.

As we've previously reported, 848 Lorimer's amenities will include bike and tenant storage, a fitness center, 23 parking spaces, a recreation room, a rooftop terrace, and a roof deck. The building is located directly across the street from the beloved McCarren Park. The nearest train station is the M at Nassau Avenue.

The building has yet to receive its industrial facade, mostly made up of classic red-brick and large casement windows, so construction will likely wrap up later this year.
Situated right next door is the Stephen B. Jacobs Group-designed 868 Lorimer Street, which launched sales in July last year and has nearly all of its 14 listings in-contract.
