When The Benson was under construction in 2020, luxury condominiums were a somewhat rare offering in its stretch of the Upper East Side. Sponsor listings in the building regularly ranked among Manhattan's top sales, and it sold out quickly. A few short years later, The Benson is back on top, albeit in a more crowded market and not at such dizzying heights: $29,399,500 might have once been the closing price for a single unit, but this figure represents the total of two separate five-bedroom apartments with fireplaces and high-end finishes and appliances.

Full-floor residences #10 and #11 were delivered as a duplex with a staircase connecting both levels in March 2022 with a closing price of $27,950,000. But a few months later, the owners (identified only as Leftshoe LLC) changed their minds and listed the two floors for $33.5 million, as well as the option to purchase separately for $17.5 million each. Buyers appear to have chosen the latter: Residence #11 had the week's top sale with a closing price of $14,999,500, and Residence #10 was not far behind at $14,400,000.
Manhattan's top sale outside The Benson and third-highest overall took place at ONE11 Residences, where Penthouse A closed for $13,850,000, or $3.1 million below the asking price when it entered contract in early 2024. The buyer, identified only through a trust, will enjoy 3,042 interior square feet, a combined total of 2,642 square feet of private outdoor space, and access to the amenities and services of Thompson Central Park.
