Almost exactly three years since building permits were filed, things are moving quickly as The Robeson nears completion. A recent site visit saw construction topped out at 10 stories high and netting coming down on the red brick facade designed by STAT Architecture. Meanwhile, an affordable lottery has just been announced for 73 units within.
Individuals and households earning 50 to 165 percent of the area median income ($25,509-$218,460/year) have until May 26, 2020 to take part in the lottery. Rents range from $680/month for studios to $3,452/month for three-bedrooms. All New Yorkers are welcome to apply, but residents of Manhattan Community Board 10 and municipal employees will be given preference for a certain number of units. Full details and criteria can be found here.

Harlem-based firm Lemor Development Group is at the helm of the building, which is named in honor of African-American actor, singer, and activist Paul Robeson. In addition to the apartments, the development will include 2,518 square feet for the New Hope Spring Grove Downtown Baptist Church of Christ, approximately 7,500 square feet of commercial space (per The Real Deal).
