The dust has barely settled from the demolition of the single-family homes at 1515 Park Place, but buzz has been building about the replacement ever since designer Samuel Wieder posted a rendering to Instagram. The eight-story building towers over its neighbors, but the red brick façade and metal-framed windows help it fit in with its surroundings.

According to permits filed with the city, over 35,000 square feet of space will be devoted to 52 units. An average size of 675 square feet indicates rentals. Amenities will include a lobby, recreation room, laundry room, 26 cellar-level bike parking places, and 36 on-site parking places. 1515 Park Place is located between two Utica Avenue subway stations that offer access to the 2, 3, 4, 5, A, and C trains.

Prices will not be available for quite some time, but the median rent for Crown Heights ranges from $1,600/month for studios to $2,449/month for two-bedrooms to $2,795/month for one-bedrooms (per CityRealty data). See more listings here.
