Some have compared it to the Eye of Sauron, others have celebrated it as a new chapter for Brooklyn, but none have been able to ignore The Brooklyn Tower. The borough’s tallest building is open for immediate occupancy, and now offering one month OP and up to 2.5 months free rent on an 18-month lease on rental units. Current rental availabilities start at $3,434/month for studios, $4,725/month for one-bedrooms, and a two-bedroom is available for $6,932/month; all prices are net effective to reflect the concession.
The offer comes on the heels of a busy spring and summer for The Brooklyn Tower. In April 2024, it was reported that developer JDS Development defaulted on a mezzanine loan issued by Silverstein Capital Partners (“Silverstein”). As a result, the building faced foreclosure and an auction was scheduled for June 2024. However, the auction was postponed and later canceled when JDS transferred a preferred equity piece in The Brooklyn Tower to Silverstein in July 2024. This move allows JDS to restructure its debt and grants Silverstein control of the building’s retail, rental, and unsold condo units. The sales units are temporarily off the market, possibly in anticipation of a relaunch with a new brokerage.
Apartment interiors (Douglas Elliman)
As per the building's stacking plan, the rentals span the ninth through 52nd floors. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out on expansive city and river views from this lofty position, and all units feature interiors by Gachot Studios, high ceilings, European White Oak flooring, zoned HVAC systems, and in-unit Miele washer/dryers. The kitchens come outfitted with Absolute Black granite countertops and Miele appliances. All primary baths are clad in marble and come with Waterworks fixtures and glass walk-in showers. Two-bedroom homes and larger come with double sinks in the primary bath and secondary baths with soaking tubs.

Life Time is managing over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities throughout the building. These include:
- Outdoor pool wrapped around the bank’s iconic Gustavino dome
- Pool deck with hot tub, kiddie pool, sun decks, hammock lounge, fire pit, and outdoor dining and grilling areas
- Double-height Poolside Lounge with shuffleboard, cocktail bar, and skyline views
- 24-hour attended lobby with rideshare lounge, package valet, and in-house coffee stand
- Library lounge with coworking space and adjacent conference rooms
- Screening room with wet bar
- Children’s playroom with pantry and reading nook
- Billiards room with bar
- Living room lounge with private and group seating areas
- Life Time Athletic Club with fitness center, separate studios for cycling, yoga, Pilates, and barre, a cafe, and a whirlpool
- 66th-story Sky Park with basketball court, pickleball and padel courts, children’s playground, and what’s been described as “the world’s highest dog run”
- 85th-story Sky Lounge with lounges, bars, and outdoor fireplace
Convexacave detail (Stephen Penta)
By virtue of its 1,066-foot height, The Brooklyn Tower would have stood out in the skyline no matter what. However, SHoP Architects founding partner Gregg Pasquarelli has said in a statement that he wanted to make sure it was “striking and singular” from any angle in Brooklyn. This inspired the building’s Neo-Deco crown that soars above the Dime Savings Bank, a New York City Landmark inside and out, at the base. The hexagonal footprint of the bank inspired the tower's "convexacave" columns that shift in shape as it rises.
The project included the restoration of the bank, which is now being reimagined as retail space and will take its place in an increasingly dynamic section of Downtown Brooklyn. The Brooklyn Tower is a short distance from City Point, whose retail and culinary offerings include Trader Joe's, Target, Alamo Drafthouse, and Dekalb Market Hall. The original Junior's Cheesecake is practically right out the front door, and residents also enjoy convenient access to Fort Greene Park, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Barclays Center, and the myriad transportation options of Atlantic Terminal.
