April showers are supposed to bring May flowers, but they seemed to continue into May 2025: More than half the month recorded precipitation, and temperatures seemed a little cooler than expected. But as May gives way to June this weekend, New York City comes alive with an eclectic mix of festivals, performances, and community events for every interest.
In Brooklyn, the 14th Annual Bushwick Collective Block Party showcases street art, music, and local eats. DUMBO sends toy elephants soaring for a good cause, and the Red Hook Regatta invites families to enjoy DIY boat races and science fun on the water.
On the Upper East Side, the Met celebrates the reopening of its Michael C. Rockefeller Wing with global music and interactive exhibits. TSQ Live kicks off the weekend with a summer Friday concert in Times Square, while the Blue Note Jazz Festival continues with a stellar lineup led by Grace Jones and Janelle Monáe. Also on tap: the city’s beaches are officially open; the Pompeii Flea Market fills the South Village with vintage finds; Flatbush Cats offers free pet care and kitten season advice; and interactive musical The Restaurant delivers food, music, and family drama in one unforgettable night in Chelsea.
And let's not forget the gorgeous open houses this weekend! An elegant Old World home on Central Park West is being offered via luxury private auction, and is among units with recent price reductions and open houses.

You can arrive early for a 6:00 p.m. cocktail hour, and there is a $25 food and beverage minimum.
TSQ Live Summer Friday
Friday, May 30, 6:00 p.m. | Broadway and 46th Street
