It was once owned by Mortimer Hall, son of New York Post owner Dorothy Schiff and radio station president, who would later take on the duties of treasurer at the newspaper. Mr. Hall lived in the house with his then-wife, actress Diane Lynn; in the second half of his life, Mr. Hall moved to upstate New York.
