From September 6-12, 2023, a total of 460 condos, co-ops, condops, and townhouses throughout New York City experienced price reductions. Among them was 10 East 64th Street, the longtime home of Ivana Trump. The businesswoman/socialite bought the townhouse, which is down the street from one formerly owned by Gianni Versace, in 1992 for $2.5 million, following her divorce from the former president. Over a year after her death in July 2022, it has lingered on the market since being listed for $26 million in November 2022.

A number of factors may be at work here. Some may be deterred by the idea that Ms. Trump's body was found in the townhhouse. Others, however, might be more spooked by the "Versailles-inspired dining room," animal-print library, and gold detailing throughout -- such features might have been the height of sophistication at the time, but come across as garish in this age of quiet luxury. Finally, while not officially part of CityRealty's Trump Index, the townhouse is nevertheless so inextricably linked to the name that some luxury buyers won't even consider it, despite the good bones and rarefied Upper East Side neighborhood.

As the New York Post reported, the townhouse was recently reduced to $22,500,000. It and other notably discounted listings may be seen below. Please be advised that all of the quoted figures refer to cumulative price cuts as opposed to the most recent reductions.
