As of June 18, 2021, CityRealty listings show 10,210 publicly listed units for rent in core areas of New York in a drop from last week's total of 10,666 listings. The median Manhattan rent, though, is holding relatively steady at $3,264/month. A total of 353 listings experienced price reductions over the past week; a full, sortable chart may be found below along with a selection of standout listings.
The numbers come in just days after New York announced the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions in response to a 70 percent vaccination rate. While it will take some time for jobs to tick up to pre-pandemic levels, it is already clear that New Yorkers are eager to go out again: According to a report in Crain's New York Business, the leisure and hospitality sectors accounted for more than half the jobs added in the past month, with restaurants leading the charge.
