Updated 11/30/2022 with information on 111 West 57th Street, #52's buyer.

As November 2022 draws to a close, 111 West 57th Street put on an especially impressive showing with two units fetching the highest prices of the past week. The development comprises the landmarked Steinway Hall with a super-skinny skyscraper, one of Manhattan's tallest; however, the top sales took place in the tower portion. Residence #52, a full-floor three-bedroom home, closed for $26,028,517. The New York Post identified the buyer as TikTok investor Tim Gong and pointed out that he also purchased a unit in Steinway Hall for $8.11 million. Residence #52 was trailed closely by the three-bedroom Residence #55, located a few floors up and closing for $23,500,000.
The top condo sale outside 111 West 57th Street took place at The Leyton, a new luxury condo located where Midtown Avenue gives way to the Upper East Side. The full 28th floor, a three-bedroom condo, closed for $16,849,875. Public records list the buyer as Eric Adjmi, CEO of Adjmi Apparel Group. The sale comes months after Mr. Adjmi's Upper East Side townhouse returned to the market; it has been on and off since its initial listing for $14,750,000 in August 2017, and is now asking $11,250,000.

The week's top co-op sale and third-highest overall took place at the Rosario Candela-designed, uber-exclusive 834 Fifth Avenue, where author Suzy Welch sold the apartment she shared with her husband, former General Electric CEO Jack Welch, for $21,000,000. When she listed the apartment for $25,000,000 at the end of 2021, The Wall Street Journal noted that it came in the wake of her purchase of an Upper East Side townhouse.
