Tucked away in a private NoHo alleyway, 1 Great Jones Alley has officially topped out at 12 stories tall and 154 feet high. The new building, from developers Madison Realty Capital, reached its peak in mid-October. To mark the occasion there were tours of the structure and a preview of the design gallery, complete with a model of the building, a model apartment, and renderings of the amenities. Expected to officially debut next year, the condominium building will host an exclusive selection of 16 residences. The apartments are already on the market, and availabilities include a 2-bedroom unit for $4.725 million, a 3-bedroom unit for $4.95 million, and a 4-bedroom unit for $8.95 million.

The residences will feature spacious floor plans and floor-to-ceiling windows. Arclinea kitchens will host custom cabinetry, top-notch appliances, and Calacatta marble countertops – an exclusive treat, the marble is from the same quarry as that used for the acclaimed David statue by Michaelangelo. The luxury does not end there – residences will host marble baths with lavish steam showers, custom Japanese-style soaking tubs, Taj Mahal quartzite walls, slatted teak millwork, ceramic wall-hung toilets, and Dornbracht rose-gold copper fixtures, which can be interchanged with other colors if desired.

Designed by BKSK Architects, the exterior of 1 Great Jones Alley will be comprised of variegated terra-cotta fins. Amenities will begin with the private and gated entry, defined by a cobblestone road, a lush green wall, and naturally oxidizing Corten steel. Just past the entry, the building’s lobby will be a minimalist’s dream – a serene and simple space with a reception desk and a seating area. The building will also have bicycle storage, laundry facilities, a Jay Wright-designed fitness center, a luxurious private wet spa with two thermal baths, a cold plunge pool, a heated plinth, a windowed steam room, and a private treatment room. To top it off, the second floor will host a terrace and petite garden designed by HMWhite for a natural and green oasis.

1 Great Jones Alley will also serve as a tribute to the artistic legacy of Great Jones Street, where Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat once lived. The building itself will host a curated rotating art exhibition by renowned gallerist Eric Firestone, and join an area already brimming with arts centers, such as Aicon, Great Jones Space, and La MaMa Galleria.
Situated in NoHo, the condos join 26 units for sale in the neighborhood with a median price of $6.975 million, or $2,657 per square foot. The average closing price for a condo in NoHo this October was $1,555 per square foot, down from last October’s average closing price of $2,799 per square foot.
The building officially topped out earlier this fall.
